What are controlled release fertilizers?
The term controlled release fertilizer (CRF) is defined by ISO as: “A fertilizer that controls the release of nutrients; the nutrient release rate, time and temperature declared on the fertilizer must correspond to the actual ones (ISO 8157: 2015). These products are designed to adequately meet the specific needs of plants through the sustained release of nutrients during the growing season.
